In the past I've had HP and Canon Printers and scanners. HP ink cartridges are very overpriced and difficult to refill successfuly. HP printers often jam or feed multiple pages.
After having the "Vertical Lines on Display" problem with my HP ZD 8000 laptop, I swore I'd "never buy an HP product again". They no longer care about their customers.
Canon printers sometime give good print quality. Ink tanks are small, but easy to refill. Print heads plug up after 4 or 5 ink tank replacements or refills. Paper feed problems are frequent. Banding is usually there if you look for it. Canon printers are less than great and have high operating cost. Canon does not have a scanner for large format negatives.
I saw my first Epson R320 at a computer flea market demonstrating a continuous feed ink system(CIS). I bought a CIS from the vendor. I bought a new R320 from Frys Electronics. I have had it for 4 years and have printed thousands of photos and pages. The quality is great. Paper handling is excellent. Jams and multiple page feeds are rare. The ink cost is reasonable with the CIS. The R320 is much better than any HP or Canon printer I've seen.
The Epson 4990 scanner is also in a class by itself for large format negatives. The only downside is that Epson replaced it with the much more expensive V700 and V750.
I love Epson printers and scanners. They provide the functionality I want at reasonable cost. -- Epson is King for Graphics
So, I purchased this printer a little over 3 years ago. I am not gonna lie, I just wanted the coolest printer I could. Boy, did I get that and then some!
First, I found this to print my documents very efficiently. I couldnt be happier with it's speed and quality options.
Next, the photo printing is outstanding! I don't even use my computer half the time! Just stick the SD card in and use the screens to select the pictures to print.
Also, the on-disk printing is a really neat feature. I do wish printable CD-Rs and DVDs would be easier to find, but I find they are cheaper than the direct-disk labeling that comes with some DVD burners, and printing onto them is much faster than the laser-etching.
All in all, a wonderful printer and I look forward to using it for the next 3 years. -- AWESOME!
Sale of used Epson Stylus R320 Photo Inkjet Printer.
The product was in good condition. I consider the sale to be a good one, but
there were problems. I was able to find solutions so that I could adapt
the printer to my computer. Evidently the former owner had a Windows PC
and I own a Mac.
